Become a host company

Take on an intern from Europe. We do the paperwork.

We have been placing international interns with Irish and European companies since 2004. You get motivated people with a second language and a different way of looking at your business. We screen them, insure the arrangement through their sending institution and stay involved for the whole placement.

Who our interns are

Three groups, three different reasons for being here.

  • EU project students

Erasmus, Erasmus+ and PON participants funded by their home institution. Placements are usually four to twelve weeks and the learning agreement is written before they travel.

  • Young professionals

From final year undergraduates to recent graduates, here for three to six months to build real experience in a second language.

  • American college students

Second and third year students doing a three month placement for academic credit, typically over spring and summer.

What a placement involves

Flexible on length, clear on everything else.

Placements run from four weeks to twelve months, full time or part time, and are unpaid. Some companies choose to contribute a travel card, meal vouchers or pocket money, and interns appreciate it, but nothing is expected.

Interns are insured through their school or sending organisation, so there is no additional cover for you to arrange. Their accommodation, transfers and support are handled by us.

Why companies do it

What an intern brings that a job advert cannot.

  • A second language in the building

Native French, German, Spanish or Italian on your team for the length of the placement, and a fresh view of how your product reads abroad.

  • Different training, different habits

People taught in another system solve problems differently. That shows up quickly in the work.

  • Capacity for the projects that slip

The research, the backlog, the tidy up nobody has time for. Interns take real work, not busywork.

  • An ambassador afterwards

Interns go home and talk about where they worked. Several of ours have come back as employees or customers.

The process

Four steps, and we are on the phone for all of them.

  1. 01

    We screen and shortlist

Tell us the department, the tasks and the level of language you need. We send CVs of candidates who actually fit, not everyone on the list.

  2. 02

    You confirm the details

Dates, hours, supervisor and what the intern will be working on. A short video call with the candidate first is normal and we will set it up.

  3. 03

    Day one is handled

We brief the intern before they start, bring the paperwork to be signed and make the introduction so nobody is standing in reception wondering what happens next.

  4. 04

We check in, all the way through

Regular contact with you and the intern for the whole placement. If something is not working we deal with it early, not at the end.

Tell us what you need and we will find them.
